Current Program Offerings
Below are the offerings that Qcells Energy Services currently offers. If applicable, homeowners can enroll in multiple programs. Your participation does not impact other benefits, such as the bill credit for the energy exported to the grid under Net Energy Metering (NEM), if applicable.
For Solar Panel Owners - SREC (Solar Renewable Energy Certificates) Program
SREC is a certificate verifying that one megawatt-hour (MWh) of electricity was generated from a solar energy source. These credits are tradable in the SREC marketplace.
SRECs are supported by several different levels of government, regional electricity transmission authorities, as well as in US case law, and are often used to demonstrate compliance with Renewable Portfolio Standards or other regulatory requirements.
An SREC’s value is determined by market forces such as geographic location, solar capacity and overall demand for renewable energy. Only homeowners with a solar panel system are eligible for the SREC program.

For Battery Owners - VPP (Virtual Power Plant) / Grid Service Program
A Virtual Power Plant (VPP) is a network of decentralized power generating units, such as solar panels, wind turbines and battery storage systems, that are collectively managed to provide reliable power to the grid. Participants in VPP programs, otherwise known as “Grid Service” programs, can earn additional revenue by taking advantage of available incentives offered by certain utilities.
