Qcells to Launch Residential Solar Panels with Domestic Frames

Featuring aluminum frames produced in Tennessee, Qcells’ new residential panels ensure customers can access the domestic content bonus

San Francisco, CA – October 16, 2026 – Qcells, a leading complete energy solutions provider, today announced plans to offer new versions of its residential AC solar panels – known as Q.TRON AC and Q.PEAK DUO AC – by the end of 2026. Featuring aluminum frames that are extruded, anodized and fabricated in Tennessee, the new panels expand Qcells’ portfolio for customers who want to support U.S. manufacturing and qualify for the domestic content bonus as a part of the investment tax credit.

A key feature of the new solar panels is the depth of their U.S. manufacturing. Every major stage of aluminum frame production takes place at Qcells’ supplier partner, ALUKO Group’s integrated manufacturing plants in Tennessee, the only facilities in the U.S. that carry out these processes.

This approach is designed to give installers and financing partners greater clarity when evaluating qualifications for the domestic content bonus. By keeping all three major stages of frame manufacturing in the U.S., Qcells is taking a rigorous, transparent approach to incorporating domestically manufactured components into its products.

The new solar panels are designed to help projects meet the minimum domestic content requirement of 55% that will apply for projects beginning construction in 2027, giving residential installers and third-party ownership (TPO) financing providers more options to qualify for the bonus as domestic content requirements increase. The partnership was also inspired by trade policy focused on onshoring and expanding U.S. manufacturing, specifically in the solar and aluminum industries. The combination of industrial and trade policy makes partnerships like this possible and gives customers the certainty needed when wanting to invest in U.S. industry.

“Qcells is committed to investing in American-made clean energy products and in the domestic supply chain behind them,” said Il Hyeong No, Head of Qcells North America’s Residential Business.

“Through this partnership to produce solar panels with domestic frames, we are furthering our commitment to U.S. manufacturing, supporting clean, affordable energy and giving our customers the certainty they need to qualify projects for the domestic content bonus.”

The frames are produced in partnership with ALUKO Group which performs extrusion, anodizing and fabrication at its manufacturing facility in Halls, Lauderdale County. The Tennessee facility is expected to begin full production by the end of 2026, with a planned annual capacity to produce enough frames to support 4GW of solar modules. ALUKO plans to create 285 new full-time jobs and invest more than $107 million in Tennessee within five years.

“We are proud to support Qcells in building a stronger U.S. solar manufacturing supply chain. By carrying out extrusion, anodizing and fabrication here in the United States, we are delivering a product that offers transparency and confidence at every step of the process,” said Jinwoo Park, President of ALUKO Group.

“This partnership shows what is possible when manufacturers invest across the full domestic supply chain.”

The launch builds on Qcells’ broader commitment to expanding American solar manufacturing and strengthening the domestic clean energy supply chain.

Qcells has made significant investments in U.S. manufacturing, including its facilities in Dalton and Cartersville, Georgia, as it builds a vertically integrated domestic solar supply chain. The new AC solar panels extend that commitment downstream, giving residential installers and financing partners products built around increasingly important domestic content requirements.
